A Night at the Opera

 We present a magical evening of opera highlights, performed by world-class singers, an evening to delight all lovers of musicals and opera …grand and light!.

Come and follow four characters through a riot of Italian opera, and hits from the musicals, along with some surprises and unusual gems from four centuries of great opera music … wit, passion, comedy, tragedy … as you’d expect, it’s all here.

The live music accompaniment has been cleverly arranged for string quintet, and the numbers are informally staged and introduced by the singers themselves, with a preview of the scene and plot to bring you into the story of each opera segment.

A Mad Story and Marvellous Music, as you’d expect….

Start here: Donizetti’s Belcore is planning to marry Bernstein’s Maria, but she is seeing Rossini’s Lindoro, who has become somewhat distracted by Bernstein’s Anita! Our perplexed and lovelorn characters stumble their way towards a resolution to their romantic troubles, expressing themselves through this wonderful and varied selection of opera and musical theatre favourites.

The music will include arias and ensembles by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, and Bernstein, with some other surprises and unusual gems.
